This chapter was really valuable to me, and helped me to define several new writing techniques into my every day. For example, I can now define rhetorical in my own words; the different ways to approach an unknown situation in everyday language. I realized that every time anyone writes it is to fulfill a goal. Writing is a key component in everyone’s daily life. Learning that writers write in response to a rhetorical question really helped me to understand rhetorical even further than the book defines. I think the author could have gone into farther detail considering the genres area of the chapter. As the author defines: the established forms that are used to respond to each of these situations. To better describe the chapter I would say it was very helpful to understand the base of writing, and I am excited to learn more on the subject.
