This chapter involved ways to start writing. Certain examples are listing, free writing, and questioning. These writing techniques are called invention activities. My understanding of what listing is when you write or jot down keywords that will remind you of ideas when you are writing more in the future. Generally speaking, free writing is jotting down anything and everything that comes to your mind in a certain period of time. Free writing helps a writer think about what to write when they are pulling a blank. Questioning is writing questions for you to answer about the audience, topic, or purpose. Questions that should be answered are the who’s, what’s, when’s, where’s, whys, and how’s.
Writing down pervious notes taken, or rewriting a paper can help you learn more and understand better. In almost any situation writing immediately after about what you learned from an experience will give you useful information for any similar situation you might face in the future.
